Could be I have LED for front and rear blinkers but noticed if I have my blinker on usually the left one but have seen it for the right too if I turn on the headlights not just parking the rate of the flash doubles!

Strange but interesting. If I have the lights on already the rate is fast, if I turn the lights off and reset the blinker its normal rate.

I need to try non-LED bulbs on all 4 to prove this but wanted to see if anyone has seen this NON issue..as I know hey it flashes dont worry about it...ha ha ha..

When this happened to my old first Gen it was because the blinker was out. If it blinks fast the blinker is out. Normal rate means it’s functional. Not sure if this applies to third gens

On my 2nd gen, that was a bulb out indication. Got the fast flash, and sure enough, one of the bulbs had burnt out.

Assuming your LED bulbs didn’t burn out, it basically comes down to resistance. This can be caused from a burnt out bulb (halogen), a built in resistor failing (“error correcting” LED), or just that your truck has decided it is now time to hyper-flash. These 3rd gen’s are very finicky with hyper-flash. I have seen it many times where it works fine, then suddenly will do this. The solution is either A) replace the LED bulbs if they are error correcting as the resistors may have failed, or B) add resistors. If you add resistors, be careful as it is easy to apply too much resistance. If you didn’t have issues before, and are only having issues with the lights on now, I would recommend 25Ω resistors. The larger them number, the less the resistance. Most resistors are 6Ω, which can work, but using them on the front and back will overload the circuit and it won’t flash at all. Unfortunately this is now controlled via the ECU, so we don’t have the option to swap the relay like the older generations.

Those should do it. I’d start with one set, added to the front. You will tap the light blue and white/black stripe wire on the passenger side, and the tan and white/black stripe wire. If you don’t want to use the taps, I can make you a set that will be plug and play. But I don’t want you to think I’m just here to sell stuff. I’ve just dealt with hyper-flash more than probably anyone :D

Yes. Please check the bulbs. I didn’t put led on blinkers, only inside lights and backup

Found them on the front counter at AutoZone. The counter person said they are "special order", though ...

Don't forget the camera and display fluid also. Great for OEM rear/reverse camera, dash cams, and even head unit display (compatibility with Entune series) for CarPlay.

Kidding aside, I had the hyper-flash issue with the truck before. For me, it was just a matter of finding the right LED lights that don't exhibit the flash issue.

Puppy set me up right when I had hyper flash, I think it’s on my reverse lights. But I have the “full c” conversion from him, with Vleds 50 reds.

Great place to gain future knowledge of a new truck before you buy. This is the real stuff we enjoy working on and saving money but to learn something else today then say yeah I fixed that.
