Is that compared to last month, or July of last year? Or something else?

...you can't just answer the question? I'm not watching some YouTuber's reaction video.

I still haven't got a chance to look at the video since this morning and my attention span will probably run out by the time I get the chance. 78% sounds high for Tacoma sales to increase no matter what numbers are being conpared. Maybe Toyota sales are up 78%?

I just saw that Toyota profits are down while sales seem to be steady.

I believe the 78% is the total unit increase this year over 2024. But 2024 started very slowly so it isn’t really surprising.

4Runner June 5,793 July 14,582 that's a significant jump, there was a few months prior to June where Toyota 6,000 or more 4Runners, January Toyota only sold 160 December 25 only 60 units. I'm guessing inventory restraints I see more 6Gs ever day.

My guess is the Tacoma numbers probably saw a jump when a bunch of dudes realized they don't want to spend that much on the 6G 4R :)

Out here, Tacomas and Frontiers are rarely seen in the construction trades, they tend to be in the lighter duty trades, landscaping, pool service, etc. Ford and Dodge dominate the construction trade work trucks.

Tacomas do dominate the play truck category out here.

The new Ford Mavericks are starting to show up everywhere, not as work or play trucks but as an alternative or addition to the family stable.

In Michigan you just see a lot of Fords and Chevies regardless, plus it seems like most guys drive full size trucks around here. Big trucks for dudes and jeeps for the ladies lol

I see a good amount of LC 250s also seen a lifted one today on 35"s or 37" they were some tall tires what ever they was. The LC almost looks weird with those big tires. I don't know if that trend will continue if people are daily driving the 250 and only on pavement when it's time for your 2nd set of big tires. Seen at least two GX 550s today those are always stock.

My theory to new GAF LC and 4Runner customers they're Jeep folks who already switched to Broncos in the past few years and are now going to midsize Toyota SUVs. Seeing some Broncos with ugly way too wide wheels and low profile tires, the thing was designed with 35s in mind with a conservative offset and they look good that way. That and I think Teslas with paper tags have become the next Altima, what's the advantage to buying a previously owned EV like a Tesla?

You got it. To answer my own question using the other link:
    Tacoma:
+43% (Jul vs Jul 2024), and +79% (YTD vs YTD 2024)

    4Runner:
+91% (Jul vs Jul 2024), and -40% (YTD vs YTD 2024)

Neither one seems like a fair comparison to me: 1st vs 2nd model year, and last vs. first model year, both with some known inventory issues.

Threat of tariffs is probably still pulling some sales sooner than they would have otherwise happened. (I'm sure some people are using that as rationale, anyway).

I wonder what sells quicker the lower priced trucks SR5 and TRD compared to the same trim with premium pkg and the larger screen or what ever it is that adds few grand to the price? Are people more likely to buy based on price or options. Usually the more factory optioned trucks get the larger discount since they cost more. I forgot about hybrids and the price bump on those which also get a discount most of the time, I only look at those when looking at everything the dealer lists in case I miss what I'm looking for. When I see a BO long bed Off Road in the low to mid 40s with minimal options I'm like I could do that, but I still rather have the Xcab.
