    Hi all,
This forum has been a godsend to me so thank you in advance. I was under my truck yesterday to take a look as I want to do some fluid changes and noticed oil on the right underside of the truck. Little nervous as I had engine work done after improper valve seating led to a misfire and engine rebuild. Any ideas of where I should look first? I want to make sure everything checks out as I approach the 100k TCPO warranty in about 7k more miles. Thanks again

@999 will do sure. Would you agree there’s a leak here? I’m not an expert but I would appreciate a second opinion. Seems like there should not be to is much oil there pooling

The fluid is designed to remain on the inside. If the fluid is on the outside, it qualifies as a leak!

Is it on the front of the engine on the passenger get side? Can you see where it's coming from? One common place a slow leak can develop is the timing cover.

Mine was leaking a while ago and looked like this:

    IMG_5308.jpg

Everything below it was wet but it had never seeped enough to drip into the skid plate. The dealer fixed it under warranty.

interesting. i have an almost identical leak that the dealer said was a seep and was not covered under warranty because there was no drip.

That pic might not be the best representation. Everything below the lower left corner of the inspection plate was coated in oil. Really hard to get a good picture in there.

Thanks @BabyBilly for your pics. I took a few more from different angles, I hope that helps. just called up the dealership and asked to get the truck in. They are charging 100-200 diagnostic fee even tho its under warranty. Wondering if I should ask a different dealership or if this is expected and their way of making sure it wasn't reckless driving that caused it).

Seems like a legitimate leak to me. Not terrible but enough to trigger the warranty repair. My dealer also said I'd be charged a diagnostic fee if it wasn't covered but after seeing the pics the service writer was pretty sure it would get covered.

Good luck! And yeah maybe try a different dealer if you've got one close enough.
