Apparently this was made during the pandemic and lock downs and released now. SO about 5 years later. Random info I saw online posted by Ice cubes son. Explains why a lot of it was cheaply done or modified to some degree

The Wind’s Fierce, aka Trinity Sees Red (1970). Tubi. The acting is rough around the edges, but this spaghetti western has a good storyline.

Tokyo Story (1953). HBO Max. A bit long winded and lacking action sequences, but the film has a very compelling storyline - you may get misty eye like I did.

Grave of the Fireflies (1988). Netflix. Damn, probably the saddest film I’ve ever seen, and it’s an animation. It is a film, no matter how good it is, you prefer not to rewatch.

All good. My wife got really sad with Grave of the Fireflies. Her mom was born in Hiroshima, moved before the war by the grace of God.

    Just finished The Knick.

Fuck. I can't believe it's done and the story doesn't get tied up at all. Man they really missed the beat on not firing this show back up

Red Eye (2005). Netflix. Entertaining suspense thriller.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016). Netflix. Silly-funny.

Paris, Texas (1984). HBO Max. Very well made film. I had never heard of this film until recently, thus, a gem of a watch for me.

Watched that years ago in school. What a terrible way to go but he was flirting with death for years doing what he was doing with those wild bears. It's just the way it finally ended for him (and his gf) was about as brutal and horrifying as one could imagine.

A Star is Born (1954). TCM. A bit long at three+ hours but Garland shined and the film moves along well. This is the second of the four Hollywood-made Star-is-Born movies.

Get Out (2017). HBO. That was pretty good. This is one reason I’ve never been hypnotized.

I Love You Phillip Morris (2009). Prime. Pretty funny. Good cast.

A Most Violent Year (2014). Prime. Good cast and a decent watch but could have been a network movie of the week after cutting off 30 minutes.

I've been rewatching The Knick since you brought it up, almost halfway through season 2 and knowing it's about to end with nothing after is making me angry lol. Was such a good show.

I did read online there's been some talk about doing a spin off series about Dr. Algernon Edwards, but it's just talk and nothing recent unfortunately.

If you like period dramas set around that time, Boardwalk Empire is another good one. It was also cancelled too soon (by HBO) so the ending is rushed, but at least there's 5 seasons to enjoy instead of just 2.
