    Hello there.
Well, I got two seats and I tried to install them but there were issues with the harness, airbag and seat belt on, blah blah.
And the huge space in the middle.

So I made the decision to installed it back on BUT when I did that I look at the mechanism for about 2 minutes and I figured out a solution.
I modified it and I got an extra 2 inches back, a huge difference.
Also, I’ll be raising the rear about an inch so that’ll make a huge difference.

At the end I did all this work moving the old seat, etc. I used a drill and a crowbar and I was able to shimmed about 5/8.

See pictures attached, when I get a chance I’ll report back and add more information about it.
If anyone else needs to do this, you won’t have the need to removed the seat either.

    (Edited)
I just got a 2008 Tacoma Reg Cab and the seat is a bit uncomfortable since it cannot be recline back.
I found someone selling two seats from a 2007 (see pictures). No power seats but I can recline them and they'll probably be more comfortable. I think they came from a Pre Runner with access cab. Should they fit correct since I see the rails on the floor.
I don't think there's side airbags correct on my Gen correct?
The ones I'm looking at are used and I'm OK with that. They have brackets already attached.
    Can I use them?

As far as the tires, I have the 215/70-15. 5 Lugs. What other years or sizes can I use?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, they will fit. I put a set of 07 bucket seats in my 05 and it all fit fine. You will have to do a little cutting and splicing of the seat pressure sensor harness to make it work with the split seats. I choose to leave my stock seat belts and latches. They are at a slight angle but work fine and I didn't have to source all new seat belts and latches, since the buckets used a smaller buckle and tang. I did end up putting a 1" spacer block under the rear left of the driver's seat, but I suspect that was more due to seat sag and wanting a better seat angle for me than any actual need to mounting. I also added seat cover just to freshen everything up.

The seat covers are from Clazzio. Those are their basic PVC ones.

The bucket seats will bolt in. Your truck has small stickers covering bolt holes near the transmission tunnel. Tear those off and bolt in.

When I did this I used the existing belt buckles since my "new" seats didn't come with them.

I have an 06 reg cab and I put buckets in also mistake I made was throwing away my bench seat without stripping ALL the sensors off it first and now I have an airbag lite on my dash. I had to also use the stock seat belt female portion as well. I cannot figure out the wiring due to my inabiluty to understand the Toyota wiring diagrams in the factory repair manuals.

I wouldn't go bigger than 235/75/15 tires. I assume you have the 4 cylinder. A 225/75/15 might be better. It's still a little bigger than what you have.

What's the reason you went with the bucket seats?
I'm trying to do mine for a single reason, I cannot recline them more towards the back, so its killing my back.

I went with bench seats because the OG bench seat was possibly the worst thing I’d ever sat on and I once sat on a porcupine so that’s saying something.

The bench is terrible. Even when I was in my 20s a while ago I couldn't drive in it for long. It has wires suspension which snaps easily (buckets have springs).

Just a horrendous seat not to mention recline. If your doctor sat in it they would recommend you sell, upgrade seat , or burn your truck , it's that bad.
