It’s great for about 85-90% of the year. Minus the insane costs.

Weather is generally fantastic. It hasn’t really been above 80 here since a fluke back in the spring. Doesn’t drop below 50 much.

But in that other 10-15%, it is dangerously windy, and your home might burn down. And earthquakes.

Their politics suck but their yotas & classic cars are usually rust free. My 68 Chevelle spent its life in Chula Vista until it was shipped to Md in 2007. No rust, no patch panels and it still had all its original sheet metal. My buddy brought back a 81 Yota 4x4 from California. Besides the paint on top being faded that truck was pristine. Someone in Pa offered him stupid money for it so he sold it.

That is a very good point! I have also noticed that it seems 95% of the stuff for sale in the TW marketplace is in SoCal lol

Frame on my Taco is immaculate, being a mostly CA truck. But it ain’t worth it. Better off moving a place affordable and just buying a new truck if/when the rust gets to it. Or just keeping the underbody clean.

It’s Toyota haven. Err, Hawaii is the haven, SoCal is second. They are EVERYWHERE.

I’m jealous of the clean 2nd gen speedway blue ones I see running around. Would totally impulse buy one of those for the right $.

Oh yeah that does sound nice. I would reverse mortgage my house for a super clean low mileage second gen.

Someone was selling one here on TW recently. It was incredible and of course now I can’t find it to link. I think he wanted like $30K if I remember correctly.

For that kind of money I would trade in your current truck plus the cash for something really really nice lol

    lol yeah that’s fair

I love my 3rd gen too much and have too many memories in it to ever trade it for anything else, but i still like to dream sometimes.

Wonder what that would have made 93. I run that in the truck and the little blue turbo thing

Normally for me MD gas is cheaper than PA, so I'll fill up after work since I work in MD. The other day though I was at a friends house in a rural PA town. There's a Rutter's on the corner and somehow gas is cheaper there than MD. I managed to snag 93 for $3.49/gal in the truck. Going back over that way today, might as well take and fill up Bluey while I'm there.
