just put a new system in my 2010 tacoma access cab. I have the jl audio stealthbox with 10w3v3-2 sub and the jl audio c3-570's in the front all powered by the new jl audio 500x3 amp. I am not happy with the c3-570s i felt they were too flat, not enough depth. After a lot of research i am struggling between the morel dotech 6" which i have never heard, the jl audio c5-650's which i have heard and feel they are a decent speaker or the hybrid audio c51-2 which i have never heard but are getting great reviews.

I am open for suggestions, these are all similar in price and i would like to stick to that price range. Around $400 - $500. I will only be putting a pair in the front since toyota decided to make the worst set up for a stereo and put the rear speakers in the roof of the truck, i just disconnected them.

I am not sure what amp you are running, I cannot find a 500x3 listed on their site.

With that said, If your option is the Hybrid in 5.25" instead of the 6.5", then I would bypass those. If you mean the 61-2, I would certainly consider those over the others.

Next up, its a toss up. Those morel drivers are OK, but not great. Never heard the JL ones.

    Good luck.

The 500x3 is a new amp that just came out. The 500x3 just came out, right now i have the 400x4 and the 500x3 will be installed next week. The only reason i was looking at the c51-2's is without hearing them i can really only go off what the reviews say and the c51-2 have amazing reviews while the c61-2 i can not find much on.

My brother has some Jl Audio c5 650's and they sound very nice to me. I was really impressed.

I picked up some Focal 165 V30's from Pacific Stereo for $340 shipped (Authorized Retailer). I listened to them at a shop and they sounded awesome!

You cant go wrong with either the Hybrids or the Morels. I have run the Imagine 6's and they sound amazing on amp power as well as the Morel Virtus 6's on amp power and they sound awesome

I used to run 2 sets of the c5-650's in my other car. They sounded good, but not great. The tweeters were really bright and the mids put out next to no bass. They were extremely clear but needed some power put to them to do so.
If they were about $200 less id pick them in a heartbeat. As for your other 2 options, i cant say since ive never heard them.

The speakers are probably out of production as the thread is 7 years old, but who knows...
