    Hello,

help needed i have a 2007 toyota tacoma 4 cyl w 482k miles. When its cold or going uphill it stalls, when i accelerate alot. It never shuts down just shaking and loss of power. ive gotten a code it was coil #3. I went and replace all 4 coils and spark plugs, replaced fuel pump, mass air flow, air filter. Ive taken the truck to 3 mechanics none have been able to find the problem. One mechanic said it was the catalytic converters. I took it to 2 muffler shops both said they were good 80% good. Lastly one is stating is my computer? Anyone knows what might be the issue? Is the motor too worn out?

Welcome to Tacoma World and sorry to hear about your issues.

You mentioned replacing a bunch of parts - were these OE Toyota brand parts or aftermarket? Which specific spark plugs did you use? Seems like a silly question but lots of fakes on Amazon that can cause things like this.

You metioned bringing to several mechanics - did any of them actually do a test to see fuel pressure or compression? Did replacing the coils clear that fault code?

Making an assumption that muffler shops aren't full of it and your cats are actually clear that leaves spark and fuel. Or it could be the cats, see this thread. Go to Google and type "site:tacomaworld.com loss of power sensor" and start reading, lots of info out there.

The mechanic stating "it's the computer"...yeah, that one unless they have evidence I wouldn't go back there.

    Good luck!

Step 1 would be to scan it for codes.

Also, I suggest a more descriptive title to your thread. You’ll get more traction on answers and help is reserved for folks actually broken down on the road or trail. You can change the title with the thread tools.

Curious how they tested the converter, if they didn't check backpressure then they didn't really check what needed to be checked.
