Exactly. It's probably not the worst thing in the world. RC has a decent reputation so they probably wouldn't sell it if the excessive heat was detrimental. I've always preferred a Cat Shield with holes for breathability. Haha, maybe there's a thread about this somewhere :D

There is an air-gap, and catalytic converter shields (like my RCI shields) are usually 1/4 thick aluminum ... difficult to heat up that mass to destruction.

They repainted all of my doors and front fenders. My local dealer was great to work with. They handled approval from Toyota for the job, my rental (I got a RAV4), and put me in direct communication with the shop. The shop they work with is highly rated and they finished my truck in 5 days. They also were nice enough to re-apply my custom door stickers and sent me pictures as soon as it was ready and before they dropped it off at the dealer.

I serviced the rear brakes. I'm probably the second or third Tacoma owner ever to actually replace those paper gaskets.

I burn some of it, some of it I dump in the woods I'm on the back of my property, but the majority of the live stuff I trim gets hauled to the township compost site

No photos but the first full detail since I drove my truck new off the lot in December of 2019. I had the body done last fall by this same person, but this is the first inside and out. The guy is retired from a local Ford dealership and does an amazing job! The truck actually looks better on the inside than when I picked it up new. If anyone here is local to the Reading, PA area, DM me and I'll give you his contact info.

Are you meaning the gasket between the axle flange and the backing plate or ??? Can't think of any gaskets being removed when doing basic drum brakes unless you had to remove the backing plate for some reason...

Didn't do anything other ran it through automatic wash yesterday after getting back from Orange Beach, Alabama (small family vacation). Other than that, it's another long weekend at work.

Installed a dashcam and hardwired it in.

Drivers are getting worse. Stop signs are barely even treated as yield signs around me.

It goes between the drum and the drive flange. I wasn't sure what to make of it either at first.

Went to start the truck this morning and the battery decided to leave the chat. Had just enough juice to start itself one last time. I told myself I would buy an AGM.. but I really don't need one and the stocker lasted just over 4 years. Never had a battery last even half this long here in AZ so went with another Toyota. Was in and out of the dealer in about 5 min with a new bat and swapped it in the parking lot. Lame that the bat that comes with the truck only has a 36-month warranty, but we'll see how quickly I need to use the 84 that the new one comes with.

^^^I did the exact same thing back in the spring. The factory battery ('21 Tacoma) started becoming untrustworthy at 3 1/2 years. Replaced it with a Toyota battery from the dealer.

^^^The Toyota replacement battery in my '09 4Runner is six years old and the Toyota replacement battery my '94 Pickup is 12 years old. Granted, I'm not in Arizona where it's more than 100F for eight months of the year but they're just as strong as when I first installed them.

So true! Batteries die without any warning in this heat. IMO -having a NOCO Boost starter is mandatory here in AZ.

Fixed the sunroof seal and unstuck the drain vents... wife got a load of hot water sloshing on her after a wash and was displeased.

Thanks for that, I'm gonna say it is to (help) keep the axle flange and drum from corroding together...

X2. Got the gbx45 and I love it. Have used it a few times on different vehicles. Got the case for it too. Fits perfect in glove box. They make a 3d printed mount for it too for anyone that has the desertdoesit seat panel.

I thought a dealer battery came with a lifetime replacement warranty? Did yours?
