makes me wanna get back into deer hunting. First time i did a food plot, i went all out. Soil test, lime and fertilizer amendment, planting just before a rain, all that. It came up so so good but got demolished by deer and pigs overnight, probably an acre plot. The following year, i went as cheap as possible. Bush hogged, disked, broadcast seed and fertilizer, and let it go. Cheapest seed mix i could find from the local garden store. Clover, winter wheat, ryegrass, all the typical stuff. Deer ate on that plot all the way to summer, best plot ive planted yet

Forage oats coming up in spite of almost no rain. No sign of clover that I can see.
