    They're ripe when the figs stem droops and the fig is soft. Peak sweet doesn't occur until peak droop. Get in to too big a hurry and they won't be they're best. And do not improve once picked. Some will oooze a spot of juice when max ripe. At that point another organism will be calling. Ants are tell tale. 20250812_162755.jpg

    It’s reliable here. And pretty popular as far as I can tell.

    it’s figgy- not like super duper purple figs I had as a kid in California but just fine. These need ripen some more. Kind of light purple reddish when ripe not green figs like my granny grew

    One of 3 muscadines that fruited is changing colors...still a ways to go though. I did try one of the ripest ones.

    A couple of pics from way back, like early '70s. These pics represent about 1/2 of the garden. Wish I had more. We kept a huge garden. Mom use to sell mums out of it.
