Truck is new to me and I suspect the leaf springs have sagged a bit over the 217,000 miles the truck has been alive but not sure how to tell or if they should be replaced. I'm running 265/60/R16 KO2's and there's a home built camper on the bed that weighs about 125 - 150 lbs. as can be seen the current height is right at 35 1/4". Not sure if that's within the stock setup's range or if the springs are sagging bad enough to be replaced.

    Any help appreciated. THANK YOU

Measure from the center of the hub to the wheel well

    Stock is roughly 22” unloaded

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I'm right at 21" with a fairly light camper. Does that raise any genuine red flags or just normal wear and tear on a 10 year old truck?

    Thank You Again!

Those are the stock leaf pack. Earlier model years had only 3 leafs total, yours has 4 - the 3 originals plus one overload that was added on later years (aka 3+1, aka "TSB leaf pack").

As far as any concern about problems I wouldn't have any. Just realize that stock leafs aren't known for supporting a huge amount of weight, hence the 1" sag with the camper. Just realize that having 1" less height means you have 1" less bump travel now and might hit the bump stops more. If you intend to carry more weight for camping or towing in time you may want to consider upgrading them. Lowest cost is an add-a-leaf, best is a full aftermarket leaf pack that has more leafs.

Plenty more info in the suspension section: https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/suspension.18/

Thank You for the info. I am planning to add a Lone Peak camper come Nov/Dec and I think I'll wait and see how it rides with the additional 250 lbs. over the home built shell that's on there now then probably add a new leaf pack if/when the time comes.
