(The video makes it sound a lot louder and rougher than it actually is. )
2008 Prerunner Doublecab that I've had about 8 weeks. (it's been a one owner prior to me) in the Phoenix, AZ area since new, so it's experienced a lot of the heat here.
I noticed a squeak that happens when you roll the window up. The squeak happens after the window stops I release the button.
This only happens on the front driver side window
Over the last few days, it has gotten a bit worse.
It sounds like it's coming from inside the door panel.
Initially when I started checking this I held my hand against the glass to see if the glass moves when I release the button, you can't feel it, but it seems to move just a very, very slight amount visually, but certainly not enough to say, oh that's obviously associated.
I am hearing this may be resolved with some silicone lubricant.
I've not taken the door panel off one of these. Any direction on panel removal and what to lubricate?

Any thoughts on cause or adjustments I can make?

I have it in my 2005 Access Cab. I have had the squeak for a couple of years now. It sounds to me like it is in the rubber moulding. But I have such bad hearing I really can't be sure.

Sounds like mine where the rubber is worn. I drive with the window or windows down more than with the A/C so the driver's side gets used a lot. To lazy to replace it, getting the window frame in and out of most cars is a PITA, but next time the Toyota dealers do 25% off I probably ought to grab those and the bulb seals around the doors that are showing wear.

It’s definitely that upper seal. I clean mine with a soft brush and a little Windex every few years, then apply 303 Aerospace Protectant. It works wonders. No window squeals or squeaks yet on my 17 year old Tacoma. I highly recommend giving it a try. Silicone lube works too, but it will always leave a film on the top of the glass, even after cleaning most of the time, and I can’t stand anything messing with clean glass.
