So, still battling flat spot issues with the crappy Hankook tires on the Subaru. Factory pressure is recommended at like 32, so I decided to bump them all up to 35. Just went out and man is it nice and cool out! All 4 were down to 30 with the weather. Maybe it'll help? I plan on replacing them regardless in the Spring, but maybe I can make it a little better? Literally shakes the car for a couple miles o_O

I put Falken's on the VW when I got it. They got less than 10K miles on them and they are getting loud o_O

They have been rotated a few times.

These Hankook's are noisy as well, but that might be the car more than anything.

When I did the first hand wash on it I looked at the tires closely. Turns out they are directional and they rotated them in an "X" pattern and were backwards. o_O

The dealer did do a road force balance, but it didn't help with the flatspotting, as expected. This is the second set of Hankook tires I've had that were absolute garbage!

    Morning
Didn’t want to but, had to.
Had to remote solar panel on one of my cameras.
To many trees from under the eve.
This part gets the most roof ice.
    Another obstacle to worry about.

We will see how this works.

Well, 26 years is a very long life for an AC unit!

When I bought this place, the AC was 13 years old. My inspector pointed out the age and told me it would need replacing in the next few years. I thought that would be okay. I moved in September, not a big demand for AC that late in the year but it was working. The following May when I tried to turn it back on the blower still worked but the compressor had given up on life. I finally got to experience what it was like for my folks to grow up with out AC.o_O I spent the whole summer in the southern heat and humidity, saving up the cash to replace the unit. I got the new unit installed on the first day I needed heat in October.:annoyed:

I think you're idea to get AC with the heat pump to supplement the oil burner is a good idea. That would likely be more efficient for some of the winter months. However, I wouldn't recommend you heat solely with a heat pump in your area, as they don't do very well in extreme cold conditions. When temps get below freezing, a heat pump will barely keep you thawed out.

Man, the female threads were really cracked up, like 4 places o_O

Got some epoxy putty that cures even wet, put some in the crack of the threads and also used it as thread compound. Installed new trap and crossing my fingers. There was a slight drip, but it appears to be residual? Ran the AC for a little bit and water is making its way out and not excessively dripping. Time will tell...

It's cycled like 10 times since the "fix" and nothing appears dripping soooo. It's also not very hot out, so we'll see...

Sorry I'm not in the market, I've got a bowling ball somewhere.:notsure: Last time I used it about 5-6 years ago my shoes fell apart from dry rot, and I had trouble getting my fat fingers into the holes.
