I am replacing my rear axle seals and bearings and my bearing have a conclave flange that looks different than what I've seen on youtube. The ones I see on Youtube look flat and flush on both sides. Mine have a raised lip on the inner portion of the bearing on one side. And like an idiot I didn't realize it had this and didn't pay attention to the orientation when I removed the old bearings.

Does the concave flange face downward toward the backing plate or upward toward the diff?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I looked in my service manual and it doesn't show this.

    Towards the outside.

It'll match the radius on your axle shaft, that's if you have 01-04 shafts. The 95-00 models had a hard edge on the shaft and a flat bearing.

Differential mechanic here. He is correct. The extra part of the race with the chamfer goes towards the outside, facing the axle flange.
