Maybe on a blown motor, but the common issues are design flaws that won’t be avoided simply from doing maintenance and more maintenance.

I am well aware of the well known issues with the 2GR-FKS, but to say that a lot of people have these issues is nonsense.

I had a 2012 Rav 4 Limited with the same V 6. We had it for 10 years after buying it new and had zero issues, not leaks or problems of any kind
Oil changes at every 4-5,000 miles

    The bottom end is reliable.
The top end is where things "can" go south. But it's not as common as you'd think.
You just hear about the head issues more, well because, people talk more about what's wrong with stuff than what is right.
Like forged cranks and connecting rods.....Yep, the 2gr-fks has forged internals.

And of course, the ongoing timing cover leaks that's been going on since about 2005+

Just now swapping plugs on my '19 at 110k. Oil changes at 10K (Amsoil Signature) per the owners manual. I also have about 10K of towing miles on this vehicle. Its been a typically reliable V6 Toyota engine with many trucks now well over 200K miles.

I have had zero issues with my 2020 with 172,000 miles. Just keep up with the maintenance.

I know it’s not many miles like others here, but I haven’t had any serious known issues with my 2020 Tacoma in 86k miles, besides the BSM taking a dump. That was warrantied, though. It has a mild stumble at around 40mph when it’s in low rpms, and when it’s cold and I turn hard, the rpms will surge a few times. It’s been like that since around new.

I think I’ll have tranny issues before engine issues with this truck.
