    Just to add to PWM argument. PWN has Input and Output directions. The rear locker and front diff engagement operate on the same principals. PMW does not lock/engage.
    PWM in both cases is a status to 4WD Ecu on the state of the locker/ADD (off- In Process-Locked-Failed to lock)
    For both systems, PMW is output signal to ECU. In manual, it states that coil signal is used to pass the info to Stability and Brake booster control units.
    Theoretically, you can send 5 V to the locker coil and engage the locker, but you won't know if it is locked/unlocked or still trying to lock. For that you need a "decoder" for PMW
