IMG_3801.jpg IMG_3910.jpg It’s not new per say. My dad has had it since 2002 and now he passed it down to me. Already tinted the windows and replaced bilstein 4600 all around. Any recommendations?

Good catch something is going on there.

OP, restore the headlights or replace them and as 02hilux said replace the LBJs. Then drive that truck and enjoy, nice rig!

LBJs actually sound like a good idea, I think they might still be stock. The emblem I have just haven’t snapped it on. Skidplate I hadn’t even thought about. Headlights are a must lol. You guys are good! The box doesn’t line up because My mom hit a patch of black ice some time ago and the truck took a little damage.

Do yourself a favor, keep it stock. Update the suspension of course, which you did but other than a basic maintenance refresher just USE IT and enjoy it.

Welcome to TW. I like to keep everything stock, they designed it this way for a reason. I'd say no mods, apply any money you'd put in it to maintenance as mentioned. Mine has almost 87K on the clock, low mileage is more rare than you'd think (and a gold one at that!) IMO when you start messing with vehicle geometry with lifts and other mods it puts more stress on other parts and problems just happen. From what I can see yours appears to be clean, no rust issues, you will spend all you can afford in keeping it that way. After 20 years rubber starts to decompose, especially in suspension parts. As mentioned, lower ball joints, maybe uppers (though they aren't as critical,) lower CA bushings, attend to fluid changes, clutch if it's a manual TX, make sure the brakes are maintained, maybe an under coating to keep the frame pristine.

As for the skid plate, check it out, see if the bolts aren't seized up and if there's no holes in it you can drop it and strip to to metal and repaint it. On mine it was the only place rust had taken it's toll but was not too far gone to save it.

Otherwise about all I'd do is see if I could fix the bed alignment or see if that indicates an unseen problem. The bug guard on mine really doesn't help much but keeps some of the hood chipping away and I just like the way it looks on Tacomas. :D

Be sure to put it in 4WD every few months and run it through the gears.

As for interiors, I like the stock CD/cassette/radio just fine, you can get good used models on Ebay. If the seats are showing wear, I'd look at getting them re-covered, it's not as expensive as you'd think. I've never liked seat covers, they always move around and get ratty after a time.

Very clean underside………guessing, low miles, garage kept, no beach usage……..
May want to watch a few videos on how to keep the rust to a minimum…..
Your big money issues are going to be axles, steering components (ball joints, bushings), water pump (because of location), timing chain……
Invest in mechanical first over looks……..
I agree with “rocknbil” comments on seats and trying to keep things “stock”…………I would upgrade radio/stereo just to get Apple Car Play, which gets you Navigation thru your phone displayed……

remember, Toyotas LOVE new, clean FLUID……..all types…..brakes, oil, power steering, coolant and thats cheap maintenance that you can DIY……..lots of help on this forum.
