Found this in The Parking lot while picking up trash. G-Shock GW 2500b-1a. Really rough condition but I'll put it in the sun to see if she'll take a charge.CD562B8B-A4CD-4A3E-BEC5-842BE41CA42C.jpg EBF6138E-1BE6-4915-8AD0-2CEFCA4AE31C.jpg 9AEC3FF8-52B5-4113-B39F-265F87E3278F.jpg

Although I dig the watch itself my main reason to get it was to see if I like canvas straps. And yes, I do! Also have a straw colored strap that I think matches the dial better.

Just was talking to a coworker about Swatch. I didn’t know they had the Omega Speedmaster x Swatch, really neat piece.

I have an old Swatch that Daimler-Chrysler gave to every employee when the company was bought out in the mid-90s. I've worn it once but it's mostly a shelf queen. I'll have to grab a pic when I'm home from work.

That's cool. For some, having an expensive watch is a big deal or a "flex". Cool watches come in at all price points so Swatches are a huge part of what I collect. They are a pop culture icon. Would love to see it. The big problem with swatches is replacing bands and getting a good OEM replacement. I just had to replace the band on my oldest Swatch - "Follow Me" from the 87 line. I luckily was able to find a pretty good match. The problem is the rubber or plastic doesn't age well, sometimes getting sticky or brittle and breaking. I've had this watch since I was in the 6th grade.

That's rad. Mine has the original clear strap and it starts to yellow if you wear it. I like bigger watches anyways so it's one of my few true collector watches.

Yeah, yellowing is an issue for sure. I have "Phone Home" which is a 2006 I picked up in Times Square, my first time ever in NYC, and the band is getting sticky. I'm so pissed. Because the band is likely not replaceable due to its uniqueness to the watch. The only option I'd have is to buy a new old stock. I wish they'd manufacture the bands since many people collect. But I get it, they likely can't or don't want to manufacture 35-40 years of different bands.
