2012 Taco, bought brand new, now after 13 years the remote lock button doesn't lock all the doors. Started with the back drivers, now it seems that the only lock it locks or unlocks is the passenger side door. All others stay unlocked or manually locked. Door button doesn't actuate the actuators. Any help?

If you're handy with a multimeter, I would start by checking for proper voltages at the inoperative actuators when commanded to lock or unlock. On the schematic I have, it says it should be a light blue with red and light blue with black wires. You vehicle may have different colored wires.

As far as I know it’s a common issue with the actuators internal motors.
Had it go out on my 2004 Sienna van and my 2015 Tacoma had the same issue when I bought it.
I replaced the motors in both vehicles and have had no issues after that. Cheap fix for some time invested if you have the skills.

I would check with a multimeter as suggested above and if you have the voltage to them then either buy the actuators as a complete unit or make the repair to them as I did. I believe I bought the motors on EBay. You have to get the right shaft length to remount the worm gear and fit in the same internal location.
There are YouTube videos covering replacement of these.

@Daigle6 which length works for the actuator?

Highly recommend just getting a new actuator.

It can be a nightmare in there (let alone getting it open) and then you may be left without a lockable door while you wait for the part.

    Be warned.

Thanks! Seems the cheaper ones say without keyless entry, seems the cheapest ones are around $40 that work with keyless entry.
Thanks for weighing in and you're advice is solid! Not even going with the cheapest one because I don't want to mess with it again

This should be all you need:

+Get a set of plastic door fasteners as yours are old and will likely break when you take the interior door off.

Do not replace the passenger door if you can avoid it. Hard to find a cheap actuator that actually allows the key to work.

HMU if you want any help. I hit about every bump doing mine.

Lastly, you may have to replace the fob itself too. I’ve been on a mission to get mine fully responsive/working well and it’s been a journey.

The long shaft worked for mine. If you are not comfortable working with pulling gears or assemblies apart then replace it as a unit.

Yea...im stuck for now. Figured id go gun ho and ordered the actuator and after about 30 minutes of contorting my baby Pillsbury doughboy hands i found that it's not the actuator or I got a bad new one. Yayyy me! So tomorrow after I get home im going to use needles and my meter to see if im getting voltage i guess . I used a volt stick that measures 12-1000VDC but it wasn't going off on any buttons so I don't have any faith in it being reliable at all. Im going to search the site for wiring faults and diagrams? There isn't some crazy wiring with the door locks is it? like with the headlights? Because apparently I haven't checked any fuses derp! Thinking about it.....the P0500 came around about the same time as the driver's side door took a crap on me.....well ill look into it further. It's quite annoying to have to lock physically and unlock driver's door with the key. Weird thing? Unlocking with the key cycles the other doors to unlock as well so it's even more confusing. Have the Japanese engineers that designed Toyota been vetted? Like are they still mad about Hiroshima and Nagasaki . Just kidding
