I also posted this on the RAV4 forum, I was hoping someone here is familiar with them to help out.

My wife got an accident on a long road trip away from home that she is currently on, and a Jeep backed into her RAV4. The ball on the hitch penetrated the lower front grill and possibly pushed in on one of the coils. It looks like it missed the condenser (?). I’m not sure what the honeycomb part behind and above it is (Possibly the radiator?), but the photo my wife took looks like it may have been pushed in by the tow hitch.

She’s still on the trip and I was worried about possible radiator leaks, but she hasn’t seen anything yet. The air conditioner apparently still works so that’s a plus. Can anyone help ID The honeycomb part? It does not look like anything I’ve seen on the Internet for 2019 auto RAV4 non-hybrid parts.

    Thanks!

Just went out and checked our 2019 rav4 limited. When i reach in through the lower grille i can move that part up and down a bit and it rubs on the inside of the bumper cover so it may just be a hard foam filler. When i open the hood i cannot see down there without removing some plastic panels. Hope this helps.

Its foam pad that fits on the front rebar.

52614-0R090 Called an upper absorber. Pretty sure.

oh great, thanks! That’s good news, someone else just posted an image of a part on the RAV4 forum sort of like that, but it doesn’t look like the honeycomb one though.

By your description it looks like I don’t have to worry about replacing it, thanks!

Hey, do you, or anybody else, know if that’s the AC condenser or the radiator in the photo just below it with the horizontal lines?

Thanks, with a big sigh of relief! I was thinking it was the radiator.
