I haven’t been able to get a decent photo but I did recently use this bracket in my ‘02 Tundra as well. Only one bolt but it feels very secure.

I’ll try with brighter light next time I get back to the install

Does anyone have any idea what the difference is between the elite and the trail model? I’ve googled the heck out of it here and elsewhere and even read the manuals but I can’t seem to find any difference. There has to be one…

Go to their website and bring up the description for each in a separate page/tab and compare. The major differences are the number of axels and a manual mode for the Elite. I chose the Elite.

I did this and I can’t find any differences. I’m talking about the elite vs the trail…not the liberty vs elite

Ok, they only had the two products to choose from when I picked mine up; had never heard of the Trail. I see the problem with their website too; their website does not have a "Specifications" page for the Trail. No way to compare. Perhaps more accessory products are included with the "Trail"? Looks like a call into them is necessary.

The “trail kit” just means that it includes their bracket and a universal harness that you don’t need if you get the Toyota specific one. I read somewhere on here that the elite uses a different cable, not an RJ45. I’m gonna install this on the center console plate where the Qi is. Anyone know if the cable that comes with the elite is long enough to do that?

You are going to install the Redarc main box in place of the Qi charger location or the switch in place of the Qi switch? That is quite the reach for an emergency activation of the brakes if that is where you want the switch!

The switch will be in the Qi spot. It’s a manual so my hand is always near there. Also it’s just a 1400 pound teardrop. I mainly want the elite for some slow steeper stuff.

With both of the cables you can probably reach the Qi switch position. Plug into the vehicle's brake interface behind the drivers kick panel, stretch out that cable, mount the box and then stretch the remaining cable to the switch location. I believe you will be successful. There is a mounting bracket that someone sells here on TW that has helped a lot of people mount the box firmly - it must not move, it must be rigidly mounted to the truck so it can sense the slowing/braking of the truck.

I've also added a button to my steering wheel for the brake control - it mimics the pushing of the button on the Redarc switch. Very convenient.

Now that is pretty sweet. Yeah I already ordered the plate. I’ve been using the Echo Bluetooth one for a couple years but I want a more reliable and permanent solution. Appreciate all the help on here as always.

@pgfitzgerald - I've been meaning to thank you for sending replacement hardware. Kind of forgot about it until I saw this thread back at the top. The original package showed up ripped to shreds and partially taped back together with the aluminum plate sticking out.
