Well, tried to be productive today and change tie rod ends on the old chevelle. Which went fine until I got to the outters. I think something is off with the replacements. Can't get them into the knuckle far enough to get a cutter pin through the stud. My guess is the taper of the new ones is off compared to the taper in the knuckle. So.. on hold till I can call the parts house Monday and see what they got..

Sometimes it’s parts substitutions not truly verified. It’s getting harder for older vehicles, since “nobody’s that old”. I can remember in the 90s having to lie to the franchise parts chains because they didn’t have computers that went back that far (60s). I had to give them common vehicles in the 70s. That still used the same parts. I remember having to get my alternators rebuilt and my drum shoes relined because nobody sold the parts.

    Morning folks :pccoffee:

Got the next 10 days off, so I guess I need to be somewhat productive. :goingcrazy:

Need to put down some quarter round, prime, and paint all the trim in the living room and hallway. Hate to paint over the old stained trim, but it's beat up, has old paint splatter on it (not from me), and just looks bad. I know @RustyGreen is gonna give me crap for painting it, but it needs a fresh look. Ace had a paint sale on Benjamin Moore Aura a while back, so I bought a gallon ahead for this. Still was some $$$$ o_O

Lowes is having BOGO sale in interior paint, Sherwin Williams and Velspar if you run short. You’re right about paint being ridiculously expensive.

Good morning everyone, I hope you have a pleasant Sunday :hattip:

As far as trim paint, I try to stick with only two BM products. I will use the Valspar 2000 for interior walls, but trim I like to go "premium"

I think the Aura goes for like $95/gal and I snagged it for like $75. They threw an additional discount on it. :anonymous:

You could sand it all down and re-stain it. :boink:

That sounds like a butt ton of work, I'd paint it too -- you will do a better job than me.

:gossip: Really I'd just leave it as is - that would be the least amount of work. :anonymous:
