I have a 1997 Toyota tacoma 3.4 I just swapped the engine with a known good motor I replaced spark plugs could pack and plug wires the truck cranks but will not start I’m getting fuel I’m also getting power to the coil packs I replaced the cam and crankshaft sensor off the old engine onto the new engine i have a brand new autel scanner and it will not communicate at the obd2 with the ecm I sent the ecm off to have it checked and was told it had leaking capacitors and they fixed it and said that it was checking good I installed the ecm and I have having the same results I did find the am2 fuse blew I didn’t have a 30 amp fuse but I did have the 40 amp that I replaced it with the 40 amp it fired up for about 10 seconds and that’s the only time it fired up it turns over good but I am defeated at this point any advise on what my next steps should be is greatly appreciated

    Did the fuse blow again?

Was the truck running prior to the swap?

You say you do or don't have power to the coils on Pin 1 (Black/Red)?

Does the check engine light come on with the key in?

Are your IGN and EFI fuses good and have power?

Have you verified all the Grounds are connected at the left front of the intake manifold?

You never mentioned if you could communicate with the ecm when it came back from repair. If you can does it have any existing codes from when you had it running for 10 seconds?

Edit I guess same results means no communication

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I think we are not seeing a sensor feed back ! The ECM thinks the Engine is not running Shuts the Fuel off.

I wonder any problems with the Harness and the old swapped in sensors.

OP why did you not use the harness off the engine you removed?

This looks to be a wire by wire step by step process!

    OP good luck!

We don't have a CEL with the key on and no communication with the ECM so need to see why the ECM is offline, powers and grounds is the first step in that.
