Gotcha, I appreciate the explanation, I’ve always wondered about it. Thanks

Back when I was racing cars, occasionally an engine would blow a spark plug out of the socket. This thread reminded me of that

2014 Tacoma DC SB 4x4 V6 040 [SL] SR5 Trim [ED] Entune Audio Plus [TO] V6 Tow Package
Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, OEM Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, OEM Gentex Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and Outside Temperature Display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. (winter), OEM All Weather Floomats (summer).
I purchased my truck used and determined the Denso plugs that were in my engine the last time I replaced them had 115,000 miles on them. The engine ran fine and returned the expected expected MPG for the 4.0L V6. To me, with that kind of service and life it's like getting them for free. They are worth whatever they charge for them.

I replaced them with the same OEM Denso plugs specified, purchased on the official Toyota parts website from a local dealer for about $7.00 each. The site has special % off sales and free shipping fairly frequently. The one I buy from offers a free pickup option at their parts counter if you are in a hurry.
