My 2025 came with a plastic air dam that practically grades the road. My sister-in-law took one look and observed that it wouldn't last long in snow country. I'm inclined to agree.

Is this solely for aerodynamics/CAFE rating, or does it have protective functions beyond those? As much as I hate to admit it, winter is a few months away. It would be a bummer to have a vehicle that has to stay home when it snows.

You're good to take it off, just order these plugs in the Amazon link or find an equivalent at a hardware store.

You'll end up with loose felt at the ends of the bumper, I personally just trimmed it to the first bolt inside the fender liner. You can just reattach the hardware though, but it might tear through which is what mine did.

The SRs/SR5/Sport have a felt skidplate which is pretty wimpy, don't go crashing into snowbanks I guess haha or find an aftermarket engine skidplate (you'll need a cross member up front).

    Nice posting, Izzy.

I would add that Miller Cat has a great skid for the SR/SR5 crowd. Also, the hole with the dropdent is for drainage for the LCR I believe, I'd leave that one open. I did on my SR5 and I get no whistling.

The link for the skid plate says it doesn't fit the SR5....

I like my CBI plates, I have the full kit but if you just want to protect the engine and front cross member from an errant bucket on the freeway you could go engine skids only.

    I went aluminum and unpainted.
