So I watched a guy on Youtube I love his videos. I'm gonna go with POR-15. I think I'm gonna get the quart and a roller and I'm gonna look to see if I can get a spray can on top of the frame do it that way other wise just gonna have to brush it on. But I was impressed with the testing.

those guys couldn’t schedule a 2 year olds birthday party. It’s no wonder they went out of business. They copied others designs and couldn’t produce, that equals a quick failure.

they were the only ones making a front recovery bar like that at the time, I like it and got it in good time. All these offroad after market companies copy each others designs.

Project Farm, yeah, that dude's awesome.
My sliders are welded on so I hit them with an angle grinder and wire brush every year, then repaint. It's a pain in the butt. The top sides look good, the bottoms just get rock chipped then light surface rust. I need to just roll on some of that rust converter.

Yea Joe always had a staffing problem I don't think there are as many quality welders around these parts as there are yea I can weld types. Mob was very strict on his welds. They did not just copy others designs I know that for a fact. The only thing he took were the measurements and location of the 6 mounting points from my Pelfrey bumper when he helped me install it in his driveway. I'm also the second person he sold his bolt on Sliders to that no one else was boxing the frame at the time. He over engineered the products I'll give him that. Unfortunately that made it longer to build and lack of help was a recipe for "failure" though being able to sell a company off for a profit I don't consider a fail.

i guess so, I just remember he RSVPd to a bbq of mine and never came and said he was going to bring some smoked brisket. After that it was all over for me for any trust in that company.

there are similarities but joe was late in the game and it was blatantly obvious that the designs were a copy/paste type deal.

Were you able to get it primed up and painted?
I think I was the one who mentioned the Rust Destroyer earlier, since I used it on my sliders (Mobtown bolt-ons). That said, I really like Project Farms tests and I think he does an excellent job testing products. I hope the POR-15 works out for you.

I only mentioned the Rust Destroyer since I did have good results with it. It goes on thick and flying rocks normally don't nick past the primer.

I'm pretty happy with my Mobtown sliders. They're just so well made and it's given me a lot more confidence traversing sketchy areas. Also it's super helpful for washing my truck and deflecting door dings. I heard someone open their door into my sliders recently. haha.

I can't say enough amazing things about the mobtown sliders! But I thought they were powder coated and not painted? I am also trying to take mine off to refinish them and am trying to figure out what the finish is so I can replicate it.
