So I've been having random TPS issues with my truck. It throws Throttle stuck closed and sometimes stuck open. I've taken it apart and cleaned. That didn't work so I have now changed the TPS sensor but that didn't either. I just unhooked my battery and I'm going to let it sit for a few and try something I read about resetting the TPS. Anyone ever experience this or have any recommendations? BTW the actuator isn't sticking at all. It rotates very smooth. TIA

That's what I've been reading on here. I'm going to completely remove it tomorrow and give it a good cleaning.

    I’m in same boat

as far as the TPS install…..member here(Thatt) convinced me to buy scan tool
It shows real time data of the TPS(and lots of other information)
Those slotted portions of sensor, you install and move the sensor until reads 10 on scan tool. I.E. snug 2 screws, then adjust to 10 then tighten down
I did all of this and I’m having same issue

after this weekend of installing/calibrating new tps and no change…….
    Searched and found this thread
This is my next step in diagnosing

Today I took my Throttle Body completely off and gave it a deep cleaning. It wasn't too bad honestly. Fired it back up and got the same code soon there after. I'm really not wanting to buy a new Throttle Body.

Is it normal to hear the throttle servo motor hum when you have the key in the ON position? Also while performing step b in the post above, when I turn the pedal position sensor you can hear the throttle motor try to turn but it just stops and faults out. Gives either a P2111/P2112. Which is stuck open/closed. It's definitely not stuck. All the sensors checked out ok while going through the troubleshooting guide.

I think my issue is in the Throttle Body reduction gears. There is a lot of play in them before it actually makes the flap open. I'm going to try and adjust the hard stop and see what happens. The hard stop isn't even touching and the teeth in the yellow circle have some play. Seems like it's too much and I could see how that would throw a reading off.

For those that are interested I ended up buying a new Throttle Body. The new TB fixed my issue. I feel like the play in my old TB reduction gears was the issue.

I wonder if anyone will ever find a solution for this problem that doesn't include swapping in a brand new OEM throttle body. If Toyota ever discontinued that part, the '03/04 owners could be really screwed.

I've got a brand new OEM throttle body in a box on my shelf for when that day comes with my '03
