Sources I've found say the oil drain plug for a 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport is a M12 x 1.25. However, I have found that a plug that size does not fit my Tacoma. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help!

Maybe check the threads on the one on there now?

AFAIK that's the proper size, maybe the previous owner had to tap in a larger size if they had a plug that got thread-crossed perhaps???

M12 x 1.25 is the correct size. If the drain plug you bought just slides in, then the pan was probably drilled out and re-tapped. If it isn’t threading in at all, chances are the threads are stripped. Luckily, the lower oil pans on Tacomas are small and pretty easy to replace. Either way, I’d seriously consider just swapping it out.

I’d make sure the threads on the plug you just got are correct. Did you order it from Amazon? Check against a thread gauge
