    Hey guys,

I’m looking to install a kill switch into my truck but have it be the factory OEM blank switch (I’ll need to order a on/off blank switch from somewhere). I’m getting a lot of conflicting information from different sources so I figured I’d reach out to anyone who’s done it.

I see some people use fuses, others use relays, etc. I’m trying to find a simple yet effective process in order to get this done. Keep in mind, all of this electrical info and terminology is new to me.

I’ll include a photo of the switch I’m talking about. If I had a YouTube video, I’d do this no problem (if it’s been done). But with the limited knowledge that I have, that I’m trying to gain, I don’t feel comfortable going in based off people doing this on different truck/car models along with the different routes they take.

If it takes spending $$$ for a semi plug and play system that’s fine (although this would still need to be modified), but this will be a last resort if so.

    Appreciate any insight.

If you just want any push switch that (almost) matches, AOB are my current favorite:

What reason are you wanting a switch? For theft deterrent or to shut off the power to the truck/ignition while the truck is running? Both are very possible but wired differently. If you are novice and confused about relays and fuses, I would consult an audio and remote start installer around you as you will be tapping into the vehicles canbus and/or ignition system that if not done correctly, can render the truck useless.

My intended use would be for theft deterrent.

I know 41.22 makes a drop in kill switch. I would just like to make it more seamless and OEM like, opposed to a red switch I’d need to hide/mount somewhere.

Appreciate it! I see they offer some blank switches for a reasonable price.

I use a Club steering wheel lock when I have to park in the crappiest areas of Portland, Oregon. My thinking is with a kill switch they still could smash a window and find out they can’t start my truck. With The Club visible they have to decide if they want to take the extra time to defeat it or move on.

If I understand correctly you wish to use an unused switch blank position as a covert (unlabeled) switch. IIRC the availability of switches in the large size to the left of the steering wheel are rare.

Perhaps change the locations to either of the two center consoles; whose smaller switch size is readily available.

Not a bad idea, I would couple that with an additional step or two to make it less likely to be found. I use three different things that have to be done to disable/reenable the truck.

Remote start w/ vehicle control and locator, Prinsu rack w/ Cali Raised Light Bar and 360 LED lights, LED Bedlights, Tailgate lock, 3" Lift, Wheels and Tires, Raptor Lights, LED headlights and fog lights, Blacked out LED taillights, Front windshield eyebrow tint, Rough country bed molle, 8-gang switch to control LEDS, Dominator D6 running boards/side steps, Blacked out sequential mirror turn signals
You can easily change the red switch in the kit to an OEM looking switch and put it in that slot. Buy the kit and switch and just move the wire to the new switch.

My next thought was using the wireless charging button but was hesitant in the event passengers start pushing buttons for the fun of it. Unlikely but you never know.

Another idea I had was a normal push button on the top portion of that charging station. That would require me to drill and somehow latch one on there. Completely out of sight and within reach.

Most likely the route I’m going to take. Didn’t want to have the spend that kind of $$$ but you can’t beat the plug and play option it has.
