Looking for recommendations for a stubby antenna that still manages good reception…my regular antenna just keeps catching branches and quite frankly doesn’t get the greatest reception on some local stations anyway.

Bought this for my kids Ranger, its absolutely sucks....
    worthless but looks good...
Every kid around here is running those lame antes that look like

tried buying this, wouldnt fit & couldnt get it to fit after buying an adapter kit, sent it all back...

If you read the Amazon reviews of the latest rage, the 50 cal bullet looking antennas...
Not one person comments about actual performance...

I assume we're talking AM/FM here, in which case check out cravenspeed. They have a number of different versions of the stubby, obviously the longer the antenna is the better the reception will be.

All of them will be about the same unless they are powered/amplified. The stock whip is about the best passive antenna you can get as it's that length for a specific reason. It's length is approximately 1/4 the length of an FM wave length. Being all metal and coupled with using the body of the vehicle as a ground plan it turns it into a 1/2 wave dipole antenna.

All that said I swapped mine for a standard rubber stubby antenna because the 30" whip was ugly and I use my phone for almost all my music listening.

The stock one is perfect. Nothing else compares.

So you didn't need the Antenna Mast? The Antenna it's self screwed directly into the base?

Correct. Unscrewed the broken stock antenna and screwed this one into the base.
