Manual Hub swap question

    When I installed the cv's...there was a circlip that gets installed on the hub end. I did not use the retaining bolt as I honestly did not see how it would retain anything. There is a little bit of play where I can push the axle towards the wheel and create a small space between the hub and the circlip. Is this normal? I wonder about the axle sealing against the spindle on the back side and if dirt/water can get in in.

    Well shoot, it looks like I'm missing a spacer under the snap ring.

    many of times searching and searching for little part (like this spacer u mention)
    i have found on the old part! (axle stub in your case)
    hope its that easy!!!!!!!

    ymmv but i have run it without the spacer, nothing has exploded (yet)

    Well that makes me feel better having not had them for the last 100 miles. I called the dealer and they are on the way, only couple bucks each. I just don't want a bunch of crud getting in behind the seal.

    The last axles on the truck where the ADD axles so no spacer unfortunately.
