Ride, that's almost exactly what I had envisioned for that cubby next to the power outlet. A bit over my skill level but I have a couple of questions "...it's fed by a 50A circuit breaker next to the battery and 6ga wire running to this fuse panel." Curious, what 'battery' are you referring to? The truck battery or a bed/house battery? And where did you source the lockable box? And sorry but what do you mean by 'topper's power connection.' Thank you

EDIT: and what are the 3 outlets? Thanks again.

Its run it to the truck battery, at some point I'll likely get a 100AH lithium and the DC will be used to feed a DC to DC charger for that battery but for now it runs my fridge when I'm camping and charges usb stuff up. There's a Cig lighter outlet, an SAE outlet and a dual USB (both flavors). USB has a DC voltage readout and a switch. I left room in the little panel for a bulkhead connector to feed the DC out to a DC to DC charger.

I made the door for the cubby out of Poly and added a lock and some small hinges, it's similar to my mods to the other other storage cubby.

Ripped out the jump seats to add a dog bench. Added a wedge camper.
This is really slick and a great DIY, to buy the locking covers is expensive

Do you have any suggestions for routing power cable up into the engine bay? I'm not sure how to drop it around the wheel well and down to the frame.

I've got the power drop cable from the truck battery wired to a Blue Sea on-off switch / 40 amp breaker combo bolted on the fender right beside the power brake chamber. From there I used #6 welding cable down to the frame and back to the back wall of the cab/ front wall of the bed. The cable is in an "outdoor" conduit cover - and right at the front by the driver footwell, it has to have heat shielding from the V6, left exhaust manifold. Mine is run up to a cross-bed tool box through a weather proof LB connector - I don't have a shell. A drop line from the tool box goes back down to the frame to provide a solid ground with low voltage drop.

When I'm not planing on using the work lights or the compressor in the tool box - I leave it shut off.

Granted it's 3rd gen but if you have a bed cubby you can do similar.
