Sorry, no. You torque all lug nuts.

    It
It might depend on the model.

I could've sworn the "wavy cookie cutter" style wheel locks you're not supposed to torque due to the thin material serving as the lock pattern

The "torque" is required to make them security nuts. If they aren't tight, then they don't supply any theft prevention. And in any case, the wheels and rotors are designed to be supported consistently.

    Thats not true....
A bunch of paranoid dumb individuals still think theyre a must have.....
But then, guess its all about your wheels & where you live...
    I despise them....

My other half was squaking at me when I took them off her lexus rx350.....
"youre paying to replace my wheels when somebody steels them"

She's a girl, theres no reasoning with them...

Conversation was over before it started, you really want to get in a tissy over you thinking someone is going to steal your stock rx350 wheels....

The security nut is a lug nut... you torque it just like the others. Only difference is it takes a different socket.

Ok, so can I just take off the security one and put on the black one and torque it good? They just came in the mail. Then I was thinking do you think at the dealership they stole my nuts when they put on the security nuts?

Typically they include the stock lug nuts in the blister pack the locking lug nuts came in.

Just depends on the level of care the dealer techs are paid for. $15/hr overworked prep guys generally don't always have a lot of fvcks left to give.
