    I see it. I’m going to keep that in mind when I get around to upgrading from my splash shield. Even if it just protects from mud, rocks in mud and road salt…lmao

    Awesome pic btw.

    Thanks for the colorful feedback :popcorn:. I think my post wasn’t quite captured correctly. I don’t have an issue taking it off myself but I wanted to see if it was really necessary or if the shop was just trying to get more & out of me. Seems odd that Toyota would design something that way where it might cause more labor at dealerships for something as basic as an alignment.

    The alignment shop was not a dealer. I’ll pull the skid before heading in.

    If I were you, I’d take it to a different shop.

    @20thumper

    I learned a lot from the thread and we do know it is necessary to drop the skid. I’m glad you posted. Never even knew this was a thing!

    You can trim it a small amount to still allow a torque wrench on the front bolts and still maintain coverage for protection.

    The skid covers under the alignment bolts, you dont trim that part. It also covers up the side by a lot. This is the part to trim. Ive done my own alignments before.

    Ah, guys, get under your trucks and have a look. My TRD skid plate does not require removing to get to the alignment bolts on the lower control arms. The only restriction is on the front bushing bolt and in that case a socket and torque wrench would not fit (EDIT: an open-end or box fits just fine), but on the nut to the rear there is no problem at all.

    OP, go somewhere else, you are dealing with anus orifices.

    I've had mine aligned twice at Davis Bros in Culver City with the TRD skid plate on and there was never an issue. The alignment tech never mentioned it and it did not impede his work at all. Maybe you just need a shop with the right set of tools.
