Sharing a story in case this helps someone else out.

Another driver turned into the back right half of my vehicle at a relatively slow speed recently. Caused some minor damage, and the way my back wheel and the vehicle’s front bumper collided, the wheel wanted to travel rearward, the leaf spring centering pin was sheared off, and the rear axle ended up about an inch back of where it should be in the leaf spring.

Repair included replacement of the leaf springs, and ever since I’d noticed a very low clunk when making left turns. After much time under the vehicle I finally noticed the right leaf spring was not seated flush against the axle mount, and suspected the part of the centering pin that sheared off was left inside and preventing the pin on the new spring from fully seating.

Took it back to the shop where they immediately worked on it. I stuck around to watch and saw them pull about 3/8 of the pin out of the mount with a magnet after removing the ubolts. Was exactly what I thought! After reassembly everything sat nice and flush, no more clunks.
