Used Safelite in Mesquite, Texas to replace the chipped, sandblasted windshield on my 2015 about a year ago. No complaints. I would always opt for an in-shop install rather than a field install.

Imagine if somehow it broke while driving and you had to put in another claim and insisting that the dealership did the work this time? I feel like that’s exactly what would happen to me in this situation.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have had Great Luck with Safelite !
Each shop stands on it`s own merits ! It would hold true some are much better then others. I had a few in the field a few in the Shop between Personal and company vehicles!

My brother who owns an FJ Cruiser made the mistake of using Safelite to replace his windshield a couple years ago. No leaks but the installer broke some clips for trim pieces. His windshield install looks much cleaner and professional than yours does. I would take your complaint all the way up the chain of responsibility with Safelite. I critiqued my brother, asking why didn't he take the job to the local Toyota dealership since it was an insurance claim? The dealership would have the tools and know how to do the install correctly.

From your description and the pictures, I share your concerns. I would be very concerned about noise and water intrusion into the interior.

Good luck to you, my friend!

The vast majority of auto dealerships do not have their own glass installers. They sub the work out to local glass companies.

The Toyota dealership here uses Safelite. I went with a different option as they were using the same glass as Safelite at a cheaper price. They also will fill rock chips for free. Safelite wanted $179 each rock chip.
