For critical parts like spark plugs I say go with OEM.
Why mess around with anything else.
I say same for such things as vital fluids and major mechanical parts.
Don't understand why you would choose otherwise just to get get marginal improvement, maybe, or save a buck.

Agreed. Even O.E. Toyota coffee. A dealer near me had a Van Houtte coffee maker and it was excellent. And complimentary! Talk about having your cake (coffee?) and eating it too.

I run either NGK or Denso in my tacoma and civic, both brands are good quality and never gave me trouble. I buy them in person from napa/advance auto/auto zone, NOT on Amazon or ebay.

Once again, if it meets OE specs then it meets OE specs! I have been driving Toyota trucks and cars for 50+ years now and I chunk / poor just about any maker's parts and fluids in them as long as they meet manufacture's specs. I have never (let me repeat that; never!) had an aftermarket parts or fluid related failure. Lighten up folks and drive on!

But then again, what the hell do I know?

    Done.
    Actually it was simple.
They didn't seem very tight imo. And putting them at 13ft/lbs seemed high....but whatever.

    Oh.
Wondering if these look okay or should I be concerned? Almost looks like burnt anti-seize.
Does Toyota add anti-seize to the spark plugs?

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Mine looked the same at 120k… dark threads. They were in since 60k.

Your threads look alot darker than mine do, if your plugs were a little loose then that would explain it.

Remember, the sealing "gasket" is up at the top of the threads, not down by the cylinder.

There's nothing preventing carbon and soot from creeping up into the threads, especially if they're a little loose

    Check build thread!
I go NGK just because they're available in my local area and I've run NGK stuff for years on my race bikes without a issue.

Just bought spark plugs from Lakeland Toyota. $14.39 each. And they ship to Hawaii. Yeah!
