Hey guys, I’m trying to figure out if the lower control arms on my 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 are the same as the ones for the 2WD.
On eBay I see a bunch of options but most don’t say if they’re for 2WD or 4WD.
I put in my truck info (TRD Sport 4x4) and it says the part fits, but here’s the thing — a while back I ordered some control arms and the bolt didn’t line up, it was bigger than the bushing hole.
Anyone know for sure or has run into this before?

If the bolt was bigger than the hole, than you got control arms for a 2nd Gen.

According to the guy in the link below, All the 3rd Gen LCA are the same.
And the guy in that post is probably the most knowledgeable on this forum when it comes to parts.

The important part here is, that the bolt size is M16 on the ones you order.

Thanks a lot man, I’ll make sure to look out for the M16 bolt then.
Really appreciate it, you helped me out a lot!

If you’re buying new arms JUST because your bushings or ball joints are toast, then I’d suggest just buying the polyurethane bushings from Whiteline. WAY cheaper to buy those to replace bushings than to get a whole new LCA.

I am not a fan of any poly bushings. They are a pain to maintain and they all eventually squeek. I go to some pretty good lengths to avoid poly bushings in my build. Aftermarket manufacturers love poly because it's easy and cheap to make. Rubber is not. Rubber is more durable, longer lasting, and does not make noise.

I'd much rather replace the arm then put poly bushings in.

Ahh gotcha. Yeah makes sense, to each their own. I off-road my Taco pretty hard so the stock rubber bushings get destroyed good lol 2 years in my poly bushings & still loving them.
