    Hello all,

I had road debris brake the glass part only in my passenger side mirror, has anyone replace theirs? I see there’s aftermarket available, Don’t know if there any good, I called the stealership and they want $180 for the glass only, and an additional $200 for the the entire assembly. I understand things aren’t cheap, but close to $200 for the little glass seems to be expensive imo. Can anyone chime in, or direct to a previous post on this matter? Any suggestions I’d highly appreciate it.

I cannot speak for the Taco mirror glass, but I replaced just the glass piece on my FJ a good while back and it as nowhere near $180 (that is insane!). If I recall correctly, those mirror pieces were around $50 bucks and that seemed outrageously high to me at the time. Maybe you can score a color matched complete assembly from a junkyard.

But as always, what the hell do I know?

You can easily pop put the glass section, esp on a warm day.

I would highly recommend the SpotterMirrors. Great for covering blind spots and checking where the rear tires are at off road. You can order just one.

Thank you all for the advice, shortly after I posted this thread I did some research on the forum and did find the spottermirror; although, they were referring to a 2nd gen taco I was able to find the corresponding ones for my need. I’m going to give them a try. I’m not kidding when I said my local dealership wanted $180 for just the glass part, that is ridiculously overpriced.

I highly recommend Spottermirror. I have had them for over 3 years without a flaw. Easy to install. Just make sure you cut the shrink wrap off the terminals to the heater before pulling them off. They were one of the best investments for me.

When I had a rock break mine I just bought the mirror glass with plastic bracket through the dealer for 125$ it's a bit bitchy to get everything popped back in right. I ended up taking a heat gun to the new bracket snaps to help loosen it up a bit.

Just be careful replacing the passenger mirror. The majority of offers are non-convex mirrors like the OEM.

There are suitable replacements for a lot less, just need to read the listing/pictures carefully.

I blew out the passenger mirror on my other vehicle on a narrow road with some tall safety cones, and found one new on eBay for something like $40.

    I replaced mine with these:

    https://www.sumaperformance.com/collections/toyota/products/tacoma-4runner-2016

Depending on your model grade for Tacoma, you get various options (including blue glass to keep glares away).

I got the blue ones with built in turn signal, BSM, and defroster. And they've been a blessing tbh.

FYI: And if you do a search on Google for a discount code, you maybe lucky enough for a 20%, but most are 10. I searched "Suma Performance discount code."

This was the code I used in July. It may work. It may not. "CWPSTI20"

Can that Suma logo be removed? I'm thinking about cancelling my order for the Aspire mirrors I ordered and getting these ones but the logo would annoy the hell out of me.
