Hi all, I'm trying to decide where I want to place a 12v accessory port, and potentially USB-C outlet in the cab that's wired directly to a feed from an AUX battery.

So far my top considerations are:
    - To the left of the passenger footwell, next to where I have the guild outfitters 120v outlet
    - In the back of the center console.

I'm leaning towards the passenger footwell area as the back of the center console may be obstructed when the seats are folded down.
If I were to place it in that location would the best way to run the wire be to go through the firewall driver's side firewall grommet, under the dash/steering column and then through the little tunnel space underneath the dash between the D/S and P/S?

I put them in both. I have my GMRS under the center console and an RJ45 jack for the mic (Midland MXT575) as well as a 12V socket on the passenger inner kick panel that is fed by the aux battery and a 12V as well as 2 USB-C sockets on the back of the center console. Super easy to do.

Where did you run the wires for them?

Here is how it all goes - Aux batt to Blue Sea power distribution box. 20A fused leg (10ga) from the Blue Sea to the cab through the main harness grommet. Mini bus bar where the useless wireless charger used to be. 10A inline fused leg (12ga) to the Midland. 10A inline fused leg (12ga) to the 12V socket. 10A fused leg running along the e-brake handle under the console to the back. That leg is daisychained with the 12V socket and the USB-C sockets. Everything from Blue Sea was under $100. You could do it cheaper with chinese knock-offs but I like the quality and peace of mind that the truck wont burn down for saving $50.

    Than
Thanks, is the bus bar under the dash console fused? Did you run negative from the BSS fuse box as well?
I'm guessing you ran the 12v wire under newth the dash/around the steering column opposed to the edge of the footwell area?

The wire going from the BSS is fused and the wires going from the bus bar are fused inline but the bus bar itself is not fused.
I ran the wire above the column, behind the radio, down behind the climate controls and then out from under the wireless charger.

Sweet, that's likely the route I'll go as I already have a few wires down there one for powered tailgate lock one for footwell lighting.

Did you happen to drill through the center console storage cubby area at all, or just rip out the guts of the wireless charger? Is there still a little tray there up top and how large is the area underneath?

IIRC the guts of the wireless charger cannot be removed without the bottom becoming hacked up - I just unplugged mine, but then I decided to not put anything (radio) there after all.

    Access Cab setup:

I ran mine under the 'cubby' ( or whatever you call it ). Notched a bit so the cable fits in real nice.
It's wired up onto the battery ( ignition on ) and is only active when the truck is running.

It powers my Jackery 1000 Pro whilst the Jackery powers the Dometic.

Works like a champ. I can go for days with this setup and worst case scenario I break out the Solar Panels to recharge the Jackery.

The Dometic is as cold as the fridge in the house -

I removed the entire tray and charger and bought the SR tray from a dealer. You can’t just remove the charger and keep the tray.
