Does it slip if it's rattled from the outside?

negative - the force of the latch trying to open due to the gas strut pushing holds the block secure.

    Hello All,

When purchasing a used alu-cab what are some things I should look for? Or questions to ask.

The diamond plate situation around the rear corners is questionable... i am assuming thats a mod.

Also, is $1,800 a good deal for a used one?

Recently acquired an Alucab Contour after selling my ARE CX Overland. Love the cap, but wondering if something else is needed (i.e. different feet/mounts) to make my Prinsu cap rack work on the Alucab. The tracks seem too wide for my current mounts to work.

The diamond plate means it's an explorer canopy I think. So the back window isn't as wide as the contour canopy. The explorer was before the contour if I remember right. Some pics of the explorer, people mount their propane tanks in the spot since the window can still open.
