Looked at my welder the other day and noticed the oil hasn't been changed in a while, over 8 years to be exact :anonymous:

Last time I changed it to now has only been 38 hours on the hour meter :anonymous::anonymous:

It had 257 hours on it in 2017 and has 295 on it now. I bought it new, don't remember when but it's at least 20+ years old.

Decided to give it a good servicing, air filter, plugs, fuel filter, oil and filter :D

This is the original air filter

    And original spark plugs

    Mine is also a 18 model! ck4010
Must just be the difference in the 35/40 hp set up.
The mechanic told me they were the same engine just tuned different.
Don't know if that's really true or not.

now we move on to the next stuff....

been helping some neighbors with their stuff. now its time to get back to mine.

my steel guy got back to me & he had my fancy new extra counterweight ready for pick up. went over & grabbed that.
brought it home, got it painted up & ready to go on.

didnt have the long enough bolts, a trip to RK & they just happened to have them= 3/4x9" long.

next was making a couple washer/spacers so that steel didnt set on steel & rust or vibrate. made them from the world famous cutting board buffer trick.
cut out 2" washer, center drilled 3/4" hole. BINGO!

then it was about getting it on there. this is pretty close to 350lbs to go with the factory 330lbs. not picking it up by hand.

used the Kioti to get it same level then slid it over into place. prybar it up for the spacers.... then bolt it all down.

    DONE!

    pix:
    1: Parts of steel
    2: spacers made
    3: finished job!

after this it was time to do some more landscape stones down the driveway. did 64 of those & the back said that was enough.

now its inside & dog time!

It was overcast at 5:30 yesterday so I started finish mowing my top 2 acres with my Cub XT3. Found armadillo dig divots, grr!

My bottom 3 acres was 3ft tall grass and I didn't want to wade it and get ticks and chiggers hunting dillos so I got out the Yanmar and rotary cutter after finishing the top. It got dark on me as I finished it but I had my 1/4 mile long road frontage left. Started cutting it in the dark with the lights on.

I was really flying with the cruise set and approaching a holler when the steering wheel came off in my hands. Surprised the heck out of me but I got it stopped and stuck it back on the splines. Drove it to the garage, lok-tited the nut and torqued it down. Finished up a little bit later. I'll hunt dillos tonight.

Tuning was the same thing I heard. I’d love to get mine retuned with the 40hp software, but finding someone willing and able to do it has proven to be difficult.

That’s an impressive chunk of steel!
Congratulations on remembering to take some pictures…:boink:

I was giving her hell in high range, probably doing 8mph. The holler was coming up fast with me holding on to the unattached wheel probably looking like a dumbass lol.
