Home ownership isn't all that and a bag of chips.
33 years in the same house and after all the repairs, roof, decks, bathrooms, painting, I treat it like a rental now. It's me time. The next buyer can inherit all the things.

It would take me 60+ years of payments at what I pay for rent in my house to pay it off, not because I pay too little, but rather the housing here being so expensive. Makes no sense for me to buy.

Don't know why, but every time I see your SN, I think of the guy that designed the Ecohubs for LMTV's. He uses Xengineguy on Steel Soldiers

Interesting, definitely no relation though! I can fab fix stuff, not typically fab design.

Other than the tip over in vid #2, did you fall and injure yourself elsewhere?

I took my first uncontrolled fall a couple days ago, came down a loose steep section in neutral and the street tires had no chance of slowing down the momentum once it leveled out. Kept squeezing the front until I felt it start to wash out, then clenched my jaws and hit the kill switch on the way down. Medium shoulder contact, surprisingly barely a touch of the helmet to the ground - can only find the mark on the helmet if you're looking for it.

Nope, no injuries other than being too old to bounce back from standing on the pegs and wrestling the bike downhill.
I'm working it out in the garage on another project and starting to feel less old.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
A couple of thoughts: 1) Always be in gear, use the clutch to modulate. Engine braking is your friend. 2) Going downhill on loose, stay off of the front brakes, locking the rear is a minor inconvenience, locking the front is an almost guaranteed crash.

Good points, counter food for thought (and inquiries).

On steep loose I've done neutral and used the rear brake, as in other situations when using just the engine braking and front brakes, I've had the rear break loose, cause skidding, and then uncontrolled momentum gain. Note that this is on a street tire, so absolutely I shouldn't really be in this situation in the first place.

Agree on front brake, though I highly recommend everyone use it way more than I see used. I used it until slip out on purpose, hoping to scrub whatever I could off before going down. I think most are too afraid of the front brake and need to learn modulation, both on moto and MTB. 1 finger braking is key to getting the feel, and also not grabbing too much in a panic.

That fall was caused by going way too slow and hitting a rock with the front that should have been rolled over, but at near stop, on the front brake, I tipped.
Keep in mind if you will, it's the only excuse in my bag, that I had been up since 3am, had already ridden one of the trails I have shown before that was washed out, so 3 hours in the seat.
Was tired and headed home and looking forward to lunch and a nap. Ran the trail on a whim and only dropped it the one time. :)
I'll get the short vid of the moguls here in a bit. They looked way bigger in real life. I think the camera lies.

Funny how cameras add 10+ lbs to people, but -100 to scale of anything.

    None... yet.
My first track day, I was so thrilled to be leaned over so very far and ripping through corners so much faster than on the street. Then I watched the clips my family had taken and was like... oh. :anonymous::rofl: And, yeah, the steepness of hills (up or down) so does not transfer to video...

I agree. Use the front brake, stand back get weight over the rear but dont be afraid to keep the momentum going down. Its easier and smoother to go down "fast" than it is to try to scrub all the speed on the hill.
