Started off with a small UWS box (63x12x9 inch) to store small stuff but eventually got into situations where I wished I had a full bed cover. I really didn't want to remove the box since it helps with organization and I've gotten used to it, so I thought to myself "Can I have both?".

Luckily since its a 2023 Tacoma with a 6ft bed, there were plenty of options available for a 5ft cover (6ft bed - 1ft box). I decided on a soft top since I would have the option to roll it up for full bed access and they are pretty cheap to experiment with. Settled on a Tyger branded 5ft soft top mostly for the lifetime warranty, although I'm pretty sure anything would work for this purpose as long as the length is correct.

Weatherproofing was probably the only real complicated part as I had to decide if I wanted the cover flushed with the box to prevent water leakage, or leave a gap to access the release latch for the box while the cover is flat. For now, I'm going flush against the box and you can see the weatherstrip in one of the images that cover everything but the latches. Unless I get particularly annoyed with having to roll up the cover each time open the box, I think this works for most usage out of the truck.

I hope this helps anyone who might have had the same idea.
