Even chatgpt couldnt find a video on replacing fuel injectors for a 3rd gen tacoma. It doesnt look too hard to replace the port injection ones, maybe the direct ones are a little tougher, but doable.

Anyone have any resources for this?

There was some posts recently. Mainly that it is hard to do and generally requires new seals. Looks like a delicate pain.

I question why you think you need to replace the injectors?
    Toyota injectors rarely fail.

    I've been
I've been having some odd reving when idle and have done most of the standard stuff. I'm pretty familiar with engines and have done this stuff with other cars (have a stage 3 s4). But mainly to just rule out injectors as an issue and put my big injector cleaner machine to use. Appreciate the pdf that is perfect.

Doubt injectors are your issue but good luck.
You need the special tool to replace the teflon seals on the direct injectors, they must be replaced when the injectors are removed.

Lisle makes a kit (34720) but I don't know if it works on Toyota injectors or not.

Any ideas of what you'd think might be causing this one? Not sure what is left to try other than injectors. Cleaned PVC / air filter / changed spark plugs / changed trans fluid and made sure it was checked properly

    What's it doing exactly?
    Any codes?

It’s unlikely that all the injectors failed at once. I recommend more analysis.

Damn brother, you sure are throwing random money at your problem! In the old days, I would have guessed a vacuum leak somewhere.

Do you have a tune? Does the odd revving happen with AC on or off or both?

Gold star advice. You will not get better advice than this. Fuel injector failures are very, very, very rare. Fuel injectors should never be replaced without a valid technically correct reason to do so. Ditto cleaning them with your new 'injector cleaning machine'.

^^^ Pardon my candid truthfulness, but this above is not a reason to start messing around with your fuel injectors. In fact, it is much more of a reason for you to stop whatever it is you are planning.^^^^^

Guessing on fuel injectors is a "sure fire way" - pun intended - to waste $600 and a weekend and make your issue worse. Not to mention whatever you spent on your injector cleaning machine. I wish to be helpful and constructive and humble - but whatever ultrasonic cleaner you bought is best used on your wife's costume jewelry.

If you have a Baja 1000 engine build in progress, I'm generally OK with having your fuel injectors sent off to be flow-tested on a bench. To ensure your fuel injectors are flowing 110 liters per hour or whatever the specification number is. If it is outta spec, they don't clean it. They don't put it in some vibrating dish with a pendant or a pair of dentures. Stop it. They discard it. And pull a new one off the shelf.

Did you look at purge valve?
I would start with it before injectors. Common thing to fail.
Also, direct injectors don't run at idle, unless in cleaning cycle.

In the shop trade, it is known as "firing the parts cannon". Rewind your clock to naval battles in the 1800s. Cannonballs were expensive, heavy, time consuming to handle, and rarely hit their target.

Think of the euphemism "Fire, Aim, Ready"

    It doesn't work.

If it’s fuel injectors, you will have injector fault codes. You checked out the throttle body in your 3.5 engine, see if it is dirty? Try clean it.
Maybe it’s your own vehicle, but if was somebody else, you only installing parts. Person will tell, you don’t know WTF you doing, they would someplace else.;)

If you're injector/injectors are failing you should have some codes like mine threw. Had one go bad and stick in the open position. When one goes it's recommended to do them all. So I had all 6 replaced with including new spark plugs :(

Correct as usual. The mechanic took 4.7 hours in labor for the injectors and 1 hour for the spark plugs. He showed me the failed injector and mentioned how hard it was to get out. It broke when he removed it and said they all fought him. But he also showed me how the injector was stuck in the open position.

    Cheers!

That is great that the issue was found though. Good stuff.
