What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Is there any reasonable way to fix a TH350 from not doing the converter leakdown to the pan? After half a week or so mine pukes ATF (I know I need to find the high leak (dipstick oring etc), but your post had me wondering about the main cause of the fluid leaking to the pan. Which causes it at times to delay going into reverse for a few seconds also we sat.

I believe Cement_wheels is correct, I did get this from my local Toyota dealership in person, so I'm pretty confident about the number on the box.

 

The torque converter is draining back through the front pump and input shaft and overfilling the case, short of pulling the trans, and front pump and replacing the seals and bushings in the front pump and maybe even the torque converter, not much you can do about the drain back.. But if everything is good and not worn out or damaged, it still shouldn't leak externally..

Clean the trans really good and then watch for things like the selector shaft seal, TV cable boot, filler tube O-ring, and pan gasket for the external leak, and in some rare cases the speedometer cable housing may be the external leak...

Or just go out and start the vehicle in for a few seconds a couple times a week, You can start it in neutral and by the time you put it back in park, the converter will be full again...

Like I had said, converter drain back is very common, just give it a minute before putting in gear and trying to drive off...



Basically replace part number 034 (pump bushing), 036 (stator bushing) and 070 (front pump seal) for the converter drain back (slow down, not stop)...

PT345-35170. I ordered from Toyota website, had it shipped to my nearest Toyota dealership.

It only came with 4 mounting screws but you just have to reuse some of the screws that are already mounted where the mudflaps line up with the fender and wheelwell.

There is a noticeable gap, not flush, between the body and the edge of the mudflap. I think the mud flap that was shipped is designed to accommodate a Black moulding along the edge of the fender which my SR trim level does not come with, thus the gap.

I'm happy with it. It is quality, hard plastic and it extends down a good deal. I have seen other 3rd party mud flaps that are too short or the material is flexible. I wanted an original Toyota part but that's me.

If you are in no rush, I would wait to order it until the Toyota website offers a sale discount on all on line orders.

 

Nothing exciting, added the Rough Country 30" bar led kit, and painted the stock tow hook

 

Wash and waxed my 2wd pavement princess today ! I don't think there is a better color than BBP! 2016 and still cleans up beautifully in my opinion. 9 years and 142k later I still look back at her when I park somewhere!
