I've had 6 hours dirt trail rides with 1 photo lol, usually its when the bike is on its side.

I now have the adv mirrors, these ones sucked.

Out riding the Triumph Bonneville today. I stopped along the river in St. Clair Michigan to stretch my legs and grab an iced tea. Perfect weather, low 70s. I'm really enjoying the ride today.

Probably about my halfway point for today's ride. Loving the mistress today!

I saved this Bonnie a while back. Got an email with a price drop. $6400(was $7200) with 6400 miles.

Then ran across this 2016 F800GS Adventure for $6000 with 12K miles

Prices seem to be dropping in the used market. Personally, nice to see :D

Put my new front tire on the ST on Saturday. The one on it when purchased was 9 years old and bald, didn't really feel comfortable riding on it. Unfortunately, it has been raining since putting the new tire on, so still haven't had a chance to ride

Bled the clutch 2 pumps to get the fluid into the window range and went for a ride, better than before but still a little hard from 3rd to 4th.

Tire talk take 2. What's the general consensus on tire width vs rim width? Some OEM's have a recommended range, others do not. Is this similar to that of cars / trucks in that it is a rough suggestion?

Reason is my front SM rim is 3". The Shinko 244 I'd like to run is 3.00-17, and rim width range is 1.60" - 2.15". Other than not having much sidewall left for cushioning, would this be acceptable? Or does a moto tire lose its rounded profile when you get to the limit like this? Alternatively there is the Kenda K270 3.25-17 listed as a rear, deeper lugs than those listed as fronts is the main difference I can see.

Hopefully a winter project as I squeeze whats left out of current set, and with any luck I can find a used set of the DS wheels kicking around.

Still anti 244s but I'd say go wider for sure, mine are one size larger and you can see in my last pic they arent making edge contact @ street pressure. Yours would curve a ton. Mine spill out the sides.

Noted still haha. A factor playing in my head for the 244 vs K270 is some comments that the 244 is more road friendly when cornering. Apparently the side knob is hollow on the K270 that allows it to squirm l, hard to tell from any picture though. Will be headed to Vancouver to a few large dealerships later this month and am hoping I can see the 2 in person.

Will have to load up the images on my PC later on to make out what you're describing, hard to see on mobile.

My buddy that suggested the 244s had 270s on a DL650 and claimed the same but his were quite worn. I got the 244s for cornering specifically offramps and it does ok, a lot better than the k760s I had lol.

Hot riding sucks for sure. Early AM rides are my only time away from kids and heat currently. Must be rough in the prairies with no tree cover, unless you're ose to Rocky Mtn House area.

Yea and its wild how cold mountain riding can get while cruising.

Our last mountain off road adventure it was 16-18 the whole time, it was glorious.

We always try for AM take offs, I won't ride with anyone that wants to meet after 10 am lol.

Engine off engine braking? Like hit the kill switch and keep it in gear?

I'd love to get up and hit the road at 730 and ride all day... But not my wife.

I took the Triumph Bonneville, aka the mistress, out for a ride today. The weather was perfect in the low 70s. I could wear my gear and wasn't sweating buckets. I stopped along the river in St Clair. I hogan to get an iced tea and stretch my legs.

I did 112 miles today and really enjoyed my time out on the bike. It took me a minute to get used to the bonnevile again after riding the tdub, night and day difference.

Was a beauty for sure! Good way to end the weekend, got back to back work shit all week until Friday so won't be able to take the bike out at all. Then next weekend is booked for family things, so no riding for a while here.

    None... yet.
Put a new tire on the rear (another Shinko 705) and made sure it was facing the correct way this time! As deep as the tread is on that tire, I'm disappointed it only lasted 3.5k...

The tape I used to go spokeless went on very thick and white but is now clear and really suctioned to the center flat. Interesting difference.
