Ended up editing the block swap down to just under 4 hours. Still quite long but should guide anyone through swapping a block without issues. Will have it uploaded later today!

I've drove the truck about 4 hours so far approx 200+miles and have had no issues with the motor. The permanent code for the cyl 6 is still there but hoping it falls off within the next few cycles. I have the stock procharger tune put back onto the truck and waiting for a custom tune to come together hopefully soon.

I do have one new code for P0430 which is catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 2) which is the bank in which my cylinder issue was. I assume with all the misfires on that side the catalytic converter is toast. I wonder if its okay to replace the cats with pipes or if both cats on that bank should be replaced with factory cats. At my location we do not do emissions. Maybe go with magneflow high flow cat upstream and remove the downstream one?

Per this post, only the front cats are monitored and so for that code, you only need to replace the front left cat. For the secondary cat, you could leave it, replace it if concerned, or bypass with a pipe.

If I were buying a cat, I'd go OEM.

You very likely could have smoked the cat. Check for any leaks in the exhaust before you replace it though

If you clear the memory, disconnect battery, etc...
You should be getting a p1000 only.
If the P0306 appears again after clearing everything, theres still an issue.

I feel for you but this man's experience is a cautionary tale of why I always keep my trucks and cars in factory stock condition. Don't mess with a good thing. You are risking ruining a damn good Toyota engine by adding all these mods, for what??

I am not a part of the mod culture or craze but I don't get it why the need to modify, tune this or that, and spend thousands of dollars.

I just don't get it. Maybe I'm an old dude who was never a car geek. I just upkeep my rig and drive it cross country while enjoying life as it comes.

    Good luck to you!

While I understand where you're coming from, you must remind yourself that you're on a Tacoma enthusiasts forum. These members ARE part of the mod culture (whether thats a simple decal, different cup holders, or supercharging their engine). Its just money/time - we spend our resources on the things we're passionate about. Its a good thing we all have different passions - itd be a boring place otherwise!

I'm getting 17-18mpg. Don't think anything is wrong with the motor. I was getting about 6mpg with the blown piston.

This is simple to answer. Some people have money to burn and the skills to do it.

The cylinder imbalance code has officially cleared itself. 2 years in the making lol. Now only have the cat to deal with! Woo-hoo.

Anyone have a fix for traction control without having to shut it off everytime I get in the truck? It's always done this since I got 35s and 5.29 Gears on the truck. Anytime I'm pulling out into traffic with a mildly aggressive steering angle my traction control starts flashing and the truck starts to cut power to the engine. It's pretty annoying and honestly dangerous.
