First off, check your coolant level, if there's not enough coolant, the heater core may not even be getting coolant flow which means no heat.

There’s a heater control valve on the passenger side firewall with a cable going to it. Make sure it’s moving when you switch from cold to hot. Sometimes the cable gets stuck or the valve itself seizes. They're cable actuated on a truck like your's, not electronic.

If the valve moves but you’re still getting no heat, the heater core might be clogged up with old coolant/scale. You can flush the core by pulling the two hoses at the firewall and running water through it until it flows clear.

Also, if all else fails, check inside the dash, the blend door controls whether air goes across the heater core or not. If that’s jammed, you won’t get heat even if everything else is fine.

I'd check the heater control valve.
Not uncommon to see them fail.

    Here is the valve.
    Notice the cable and lever.

On an additional note... The hoses could have came loose.

    Or the adjuster cable.

    If the hose(s) came off.
I'd suspect a massive coolant leak and possible over heating condition.

Most if the time, it's the cable or the valve just went bad.

Genuinely check the post I made on this thread. But yeah maybe I am a dipshit for the hose thing.. not my brightest moment...

I've been able to disconnect the cable and work the valve free with some pliers on marquees of yore with similar arrangements. all I cared about was wide open in the winter, then shut it off (again, manually) in the summer.

It was usually a sign that the cooling system needed attention, the valve was gooped up.
